New Covenant Church

MISSION STATEMENT

New Covenant Church of the Holy Spirit, [Evangelical-Liturgical Ethiopian Orthodox] National and International, continues a worldwide mission to do God’s work. Through the proclamation of the “Gospel of Peace,” through salvation in the Lord and Savior Yeshua (Jesus) Christ, we maintain a commitment to addressing the spiritual and social ills that plague humanity. As we strive towards our goals, the scope of our outreach is maintained through worship, education, and the building of ecumenical of bridges to all persons of “good intent,” beyond the barriers of race, ethnicity, nationality, color, and creed. We endeavor to be a conduit in the development of programs to meet the fundamental needs of the human condition and thereby enhance the quality of life. By providing a variety of fundamental resources we create an environment conducive to the building of a safe and productive society, where the individual has a noble sense of God-given values, principles and self-esteem.

This religious community is Evangelical-Liturgical Ethiopian Orthodox.

We are Evangelical and apostolic in our belief; we Believe and emphasize that Salvation by Faith in the sacrificial atoning death of Yeshua Christ is sufficient for Eternal Salvation.

We are Liturgical because we observe the Christian Liturgical calendar, our clergy wear sacred and ecclesiastical vestments, and we believe in prescribed forms of order for public worship.

We are Ethiopian because of a noble and ancient heritage stemming from the very cradle of Christendom, finding its roots in the first fruits born of that Most Holy Faith and its continued legacy in the vanguard of Christian service.

We are Orthodox in that we hold to the “right opinion” of the Faith as set forth in the proclamations of the Apostles and the teachings of the Fathers, giving testimony of those things which were from the beginning.

The true Evangelical Orthodox is open to the “winds of the Spirit” and believes in ALL of the “truly” manifested gifts of Ruach the Holy Spirit.

The mission of this branch of The Church, is to fulfill the ancient Christian Mandate. We proclaim Christ crucified and Resurrected! We are ever mindful of our Savior’s godly admonition, to be “light and salt,” in the earth. It is our sacred task to bring help and hope to the hopeless.

We seek to accomplish these goals according to the witness of the first and second commandments, recorded in the gospel of Matthew chapter 22 verses 35 through 40. As it is written our responsibilities are, “To Love Yahweh our Elohim (the LORD thy God) with all of our being, and our neighbors as ourselves.”

Through its ministries and human services, the connection maintains our Christian commitment of Love and Service to Yahweh our God and humanity.
